Rabbi Di Segni wishes Pope blessed Easter

The Jewish community of Rome published the message sent by the Chief Rabbi of Rome Riccardo Di Segni to Pope Francis for Easter.

Rabbi Di Segni thanked the Pope for the message sent by the Holy Father for Passover. Rabbi Di Segni pointed out that the fact that Easter and Passover were often at the same time was “a reminder of the common values, and in first place the faith in the divine presence in history, which promotes the liberation of the human person from slavery.”

The Rabbi also welcomed the upcoming canonization of Blessed John XXIII and John Paul II, “two popes who positively changed the history of relations between the Church and Judaism.”
