On Saturday evening, March 29, 2014, the Charlotta Chorale gave a performance of religious psalms and songs at the Our Lady Woman of Valor Pastoral Center in south Tel Aviv.

A few weeks ago a dynamic elderly couple, Eli and Sylvia Geffen, visited the new pastoral center in Tel Aviv and proposed to come with the chorale they founded to sing for the public for free. This became a reality on Saturday night when the 18 members of the chorale arrived in south Tel Aviv, having made the journey from all over the country.

About 120 of the regular faithful from the Filipino, Indian and Sri Lankan communities gathered in the chapel of the center and were enchanted by the evening’s program. In her word of thank you, Sister Regina described the concert as “a visit of angels”.

The program was a mixture of classical European religious music (Bach, Mendelsohn, Verdi and Rachmaninoff) as well as psalms, Jewish religious music, Israeli folk songs and even one song in Yiddish. The program ended with “The Lord bless You” by John Rutter.

Thank you, this was a wonderful way to begin a new week!
