First Sunday of Lent for Syria

In his Lenten message, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal called on Christians in the Holy Land to take up a collection for their brothers and sisters in Syria.

In his message, the Patriarch called on the Christians in the Holy Land to contribute generously to “our Syrian brothers and sisters who are suffering from famine, thirst, violence and persecution.” The collection on the first Sunday of Lent will be for those suffering in Syria and those in exile.
