11 youth and 4 counselors arrived in the Beer Sheba Hebrew speaking Catholic community, named for our Father Abraham, on Friday evening. There they joined the Indian community in their weekly mass, celebrated by Father Yoel. After dinner, a prayer was organized that focused on the figure of Abraham, the friend of God.

On Saturday, after breakfast, a meeting took place with Jakob, a member of the Beer Sheba community, a husband and father of a family. He spoke about the vocation of raising a family in the Church, to live the life of a couple, to bring children into the world and to educate them in the faith. I stressed the importance of love and the growth of mutual respect that derives from true love. He also described the importance of the anticipation of the birth of children and how the life of the couple radically changes when the pair become parents.

After lunch, the group went out to visit the town: the museum, the well of Abraham, the old city, the churches that were in Beer Sheba before 1948 and the train station built by the Turks. The guide for the trip was Marianna, a member of the Beer Sheba community and mother of two of the youth.

Later, the youth dedicated some time to planning for the visit of the youth from Italy who will come to Israel in the summer. The youth decided to prepare a short film and immediately set to work on the project that will present the country

The time in Beer Sheba ended with a mass and the usual farewells… until next time..
