In an event marked by thanksgiving and sadness, the Filipino community in south Tel Aviv bade farewell to Sister Rebecca of the Sisters of Saint Paul of Chartres. Sister Rebecca has been working in Israel for the past six and a half years and over the past four years has consecrated her life to the development of the Pastoral Center in south Tel Aviv. Her able administration and dedicated presence have borne much fruit and she will be sorely missed.

In an out pouring of love, the community bade her farewell on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple. The four Saturday evening masses were followed by a reception and a program that included songs and dance. At the end of the evening, Sister Rebecca herself sang two songs. In her words to the community, she asked forgiveness for any faults committed, thanked the Lord for these rich years of service and promised to be waiting for the migrant workers who returned home.

Thank you Sister Rebecca!
