Jerome Murphy-O’Connor OP z”l

Father Jerome Murphy O’Connor, a Dominican and long time professor at the Domonican school of Bible and archeology in Jerusalem, the Ecole biblique, died on November 11, 2013, in Jerusalem.

Father Jerome, Irish by nationality, was born in 1935 and entered the Dominicans in 1953. He was ordained a priest in 1960. He was appointed professor of New Testament at the Ecole biblique in Jerusalem in 1967. He taught there for many years the writings of Saint Paul and published widely on this subject.
