International Catholic-Jewish Liaison Committee meets in Madrid

From October 13 until 16, 2013, the members of the International Catholic-Jewish Liaison Committee (ILC) met in Madrid.

The organization that was founded 43 years ago, which brings together representatives of the Catholic Church with representatives of the Jewish people, had its 22nd meeting in Madrid. The Catholic delegation was led by Cardinal Kurt Koch, head of the Pontifical Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews. The Catholic delegation included two church leaders from the Holy Land, Bishop Boulos Marcuzzo, Auxiliary of the Latin Patriarch, and Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Franciscan Custos.

The theme of the meeting was “The challenges for faith in modern society”. Twelve speakers addressed the theme and workshops encouraged open discussion.
