Our brother Alberto makes his final profession

Brother Alberto Pari OFM, well known to our Hebrew speaking faithful, made his final profession as a Franciscan on Saturday, October 5, 2013.

Together with four of his Franciscan brothers, our own Franciscan brother Alberto made his final profession as a Franciscan in the course of a joyful mass celebrated in the Basilica of the Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem. The mass was celebrated by the Custos of the Holy Land, Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa. The multilingual celebration included the reciting of the psalm in Hebrew with the refrain led by our own seminarian, Benny.

In the packed basilica, there were many members of the kehillot, particularly a large delegation from Jaffa, where Alberto is well known. A number of families brought with them their children who behaved exemplarily during the long service, mostly in Italian. There was also a delegation of children from the Filipino community in Tel Aviv, who had spent the weekend in Jerusalem under the supervision of Claudia.

Mazal tov, Alberto, may God strengthen you in your vocation!
