Like every year, the team of catechism teachers from the Saint James Vicariate for Hebrew Speaking Catholics in Israel set off for south Tel Aviv in order to inaugurate the new year of catechism for the children of south Tel Aviv. The team works in collaboration with the priests, sisters and lay volunteers of the Filipino community that gathers in the Divine Mercy Pastoral Center.

This year, more than one hundred children signed up for religion classes. The children will spend the year divided into four groups:

- a group of children preparing for first communion. This group is the most numerous this year. The teacher of the group is Benny, our seminarian.

- a group of children who have already received first communion and are under the age of 11. They will study the history of salvation with Kirill.

- a group of children preparing to receive confirmation. They will study the Creed with Father David. The group includes children between the ages of 11 and 17.

- a group that already received confirmation and deepens its Catholic identity with Claudia by means of activities and discussion of faith and Christian identity.

Parallel to the classes in the Divine Mercy Center, Father Apolinary, responsible for the Hebrew speaking Catholic community in Jaffa, began religious classes for the migrant children in Saint Anthony’s Church.
