Latin Patriarch on the Eucharistic Adoration

Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal addressed a letter to the Catholic faithful of the Holy Land concerning the Eucharistic Adoration planned for Sunday, June 2, 2013.

We announce an important event during this Year of Faith, that is the Eucharistic Adoration throughout the world, to be held on Sunday, June 2, 2013.

From 18:00 to 19:00 local time (17:00 to 18:00 Italian time) in the Basilica of St. Peter and simultaneously throughout the world, we are invited to join in prayer and Eucharistic Adoration. This historical event, which takes place for the first time, when all Churches all over the world will be united with Rome and will, for an hour, be united in communion with Pope Francis.

The theme of this event will be “One Lord, one faith,” to witness the profound sense of unity that characterizes this time.

Religious communities of the Holy Land are invited to make an hour of adoration in their convents if they cannot join the local community.

To encourage a more unified participation in Jerusalem, we may join in any of the following:

Franciscan Cenacle Chapel

15.30 Mass, followed by Eucharistic Adoration ending at 19:00

Notre Dame Center

17.30 to 18:30 – Eucharistic Adoration

1830 Mass

Armenian Catholic Church (3rd Station Via Dolorosa)

18.00 – 19.00 Eucharistic Adoration

The prayer intentions are:

- For the Church spread throughout the world and united today in the adoration of the Most Holy Eucharist as a sign of unity.

- For those around the world who still suffer slavery and who are victims of war and violence. We especially remember Syria.

Let us all be united during this time of adoration, fellowship and support for everyone.
