Priests' meeting – April 19, 2013


The priests of the Saint James Vicariate for Hebrew speaking Catholics in Israel met on Friday, April 19, 2013, at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Jerusalem.

Present at the meeting were eleven of the twelve priests, including the priests responsible for the communities in Jerusalem, Jaffa, Haifa, Nazareth, Beer Sheva and Tiberias, and both priests working with the Russian-speaking communities. Father Gregor is away in Poland at this time.

The meeting began with a time to share on the Gospel that will be read on Sunday, at the liturgy. This was followed by news from the different communities.

In addition the following subjects were also discussed:

- Father David's visit to Rome to see Pope Francis;

- An evaluation of the kehillot day at Easter and planning for the next day after the Sukkot holiday;

- An evaluation of the Easter children's camp and planning for the summer children's camps;

- The internet site and the request for greater participation in reporting events;

- Music in the kehillot and the formation of a group of kehilla musicians;

- A report on the youth group and the summer plans.

Lunch was shared by the priests in the Jesuit refectory of the Biblical Institute.
