On Saturday, November 1, 2014, the Feast of All Saints, at 16.00, in the convent of the Salesian Fathers on Shmuel HaNagid Street in Jerusalem, a first communion celebration was held for 12 children from the Filipino community who study catechism at the Salesian convent at Ratisbonne on Saturdays. On the other days of the week they come to play and do homework and pray too at the home of the Jerusalem kehilla.

The names of the twelve children are: Christopher, John, Mary-Angel, Trisha, Raymark, Christian, Faith, Hani, Casey, Prince, Daniela and IJ. The mass was celebrated in Hebrew with songs in English by Father Rafic, responsible for the Jerusalem kehilla, and he was assisted by two of the Salesian priests, Father Andrew, rector of the Salesian community, and Father Moses. Deacon Itchan also assisted, he being responsible for the catechism of the children. Parents, family and friends attended the celebration as well as some members of the Jerusalem kehilla, Claudia, Hidri, Rivka and Louis. After the mass, we celebrated this event around the table with a wide selection of tasty dishes provided by family and friends.

Let us remember these dear children in our prayers, may God protect them and strengthen their faith.
