Preparing latkes in the Vicariate


On Sunday, a day of rest, Father Piotr and Father Nicola prepared latkes (potato pancakes) for the Jerusalem kehilla on the occasion of the lighting of the second candle of Hannuka… mmmm … delicious!

Latkes and donuts are the traditional foods for Hannuka – frying in oil on the feast that commemorates the miracle of oil in the Temple. In the Jerusalem kehilla, they did not want to miss out… so Father Piotr, responsible for the kehilla, and Father Nicola, preparing a doctorate in Biblical studies and a resident of the Vicariate community, devoted their hours of rest to hard labor in the kitchen… and the result was heavenly.
