Snow day in Jerusalem

Today, Friday, March 2, 2012, the snow that was long awaited by the Jerusalemites finally arrived.

Snow fell for most of the morning and covered the Holy City of Jerusalem as it prepared for Sabbath. Members of the Saint James Vicariate community went out to photograph the event. To the surprise of the members of the Vicariate community, all those who were supposed to come to the house during the course of the day indeed arrived. First came the members of the discussion group who are studying the meaning of Sabbath in our lives as Catholics in Israel. They were welcomed by the members of the Vicariate community with a mug of hot chocolate before they sat down to two hours of fruitful work. In the afternoon, arrived those who came for children's catechism, mass and choir practice… Well done! Despite the snow and the cold, life continues!

In these days, we thank God for the rains and the snow but we also pray for the asylum seekers and homeless who are on the streets.
