New appointments in the Jerusalem Church

In the past weeks, two new Church leaders have been appointed in the ranks of the Church of the Holy Land – a head for the Armenian Catholic Church and an administrator for the Maronite Church.

Father Joseph Kelekian, former rector of the Armenian Catholic seminary in Rome, has been appointed head of the Armenian Catholic Church in the Holy Land. He replaces Father Raphael Minassian, who was ordained bishop and serves as Armenian Catholic Archbishop in Eastern Europe.

Father George Chihan, formerly Maronite parish priest in Amman, has been appointed Patriarchal Administrator of the Maronite Church in the Holy Land. He fills the post left vacant by Archbishop Paul-Nabil Sayyah, who was appointed Vicar of the new Maronite Patriarch Bishara Ra'I in Lebanon.

We wish both of them every blessing in their new ministries.
