“The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem sends greetings and best wishes to the Jewish people celebrating Rosh Hashana today. Happy New Year 5772! “Shana tova!"

May the new year be one of peace, reconciliation, security and prosperity for everyone. These wishes are based on prayer that unites Jews and Christians and on the same values of peace.

The prayer of the Psalms brings us together. We pray and will continue to pray for peace in Jerusalem. Let us all together faithfully heed the call in Psalm 122- 6: "For the peace of Jerusalem pray: May those who love you prosper!"
