Our youth return home

Monday night, August 22, 2011, our young people returned home from Madrid, radiant and full of stories.

At 22.01, the flight from Madrid landed at Ben Gurion airport and our young people together with Father Apolinary and Benedetto were processed rapidly and emerged, smiling and full of energy into the waiting hall. There, a small group from the Vicariate was waiting to receive them. Father David, Vicar for the kehillot, a group of parents and siblings, greeted them warmly. One of the mothers had prepared silver haloes that were distributed to each one who returned. “They have become saints,” she explained. One of the young siblings had prepared a large colorful poster saying “Welcome home!”

Before leaving, the young people took a long time to part from one another. There were hugs, kisses and also tears. They did not leave before they prayed together “Our Father”. Received a final blessing from Father Apolinary and sang “Oseh shalom bimromav” (He who makes peace in His heights). They then went off to their homes: to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Tiberias and Nazareth.

Welcome back indeed! We all want to receive from your joy and your light.
