Statistics on Holy Land youth in Spain
On August 8, 2011, Bishop Boulos Marcuzzo, Patriarchal Vicar in Nazareth, released the statistics for participation of the Holy Land young people in the World Youth Days in Spain.
The numbers of young people in groups organized by the local Catholic Church are:
103 from Israel (from the Arabic speaking parishes)
17 from the Saint James Vicariate for Hebrew Speaking Catholics in Israel
92 from Jordan
76 from the Palestinian Territories
In addition the Bishop gave the statistics of those participating in groups sent by the other ecclesial movements active in the Holy Land:
The Neo-Catechumenate is sending 250 young people (125 from Israel and 75 expatriates, 20 from Jordan, 10 from the Palestinian Territories and 20 from Cyprus).
Other groups include: a group of 16 from Ramallah, 12 from Anjara (Jordan) and 9 from Nazareth.
This totals 558 young people from the entire territory of the Holy Land (Israel, Palestinian Territories, Jordan and Cyprus).
