The Apostolic Administrator visits the Kehilla of Jerusalem

Fr Rafic reports

On Sunday, the 4th of February 2018, the Kehilla of Jerusalem was visited by the Apostolic Administrator, Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa. On that day we celebrated the Presentation of Jesus to the Temple, which is the patronal feast of our Community, and the Archbishop reminded us of our mission to live in expectation of the Redemption like Simeon and Anna the righteous.

For the Apostolic Administrator, the visit to the house of Simeon and Anna is a return to a well-known place, not only because Father Pierbattista was the patriarchal Vicar for the Hebrew-speaking Catholics for several years but also because he himself renovated this house, that belongs to the Franciscans, when it started to be used by the Kehilla of Jerusalem.

After mass and refreshment, the Archbishop sat with the members of the Kehilla, gave them news from the local church, and answered to their questions. It was an important and memorable evening for our entire community.
