First report from Spain

This evening, August 10, Father Apolinary called from Spain to give a first report about our group of young people.

“We arrived safe and sound and we are now in Santiago di Compostella, the famous pilgrimage town. We were wonderfully received here by the Franciscan Sisters. Everyone is doing well. A small group of ten Spanish students were waiting for us in the Sisters’ house and they take care of us. On our first day, we went out together to walk around the old city and we visited the important sites. Of course, we also devoted time to getting to know one another. Benedetto’s fluent Spanish helps as he can translate for us. At noon, we ate in the university cafeteria. In the late hours of the afternoon, we participated in the mass celebrated in the Cathedral, built over the tomb of Saint James the Apostle. The main celebrant was the Archbishop of Santiago and the participants were all the young people from the region who will attend the Madrid meeting. The experience is wonderful!”
