On Thursday, November 30, 2017, Conservative Synagogue "Magen Avraham" in Omer (near Beer Sheba) organized a farewell party for Rabbi Yonatan Sadoff. Rabbi Sadoff served in the congregation of Omer from August 2012. He is originally from the USA where, before becoming a rabbi, he worked in the film industry (as director and editor). Rabbi Yonatan with his wife and two daughters will move to Melbourne in Australia where he will take up the position of the chief rabbi in Conservative Synagogue.

Rabbi Sadoff was active in interreligious dialogue in the Negev. He became a friend of the Hebrew speaking Catholic Community in Beer Sheba, visited the parish often and invited Father Piotr to speak in his synagogue. An unusual friendship between a Catholic priest and a rabbi will be put to the test due to the distance. We wish Rabbi Yonatan and his family many blessings in their new home.
