Last Wednesday, September 20, several families from the Jaffa community, along with young people from the youth group, set off on a trip to the Sea of Galilee under the guidance of Father Apolinary. They were hosted and in the monastery of Tabgha, on the north-west shore of the Sea of Galilee.

We spent time in the monastery area. We slept in tents in nature and enjoyed the benches placed there during the meal times. We are very grateful for the hospitality of the monks of the Franciscan monastery in Tabgha.

In addition to the great food and access to the water, we did not forget sport and exercise, walking in the midst of the amazing scenery of the Sea of Galilee and the paths of the pilgrims around the Kinneret.

On Thursday, the first day of the trip, the families from the Jaffa community together with the group of young people marched along the pilgrims' march that began in Kfar HaZaytim and ended in the Druze town of Majdal, walking about 12 kilometers. The purpose of the walk was spiritual, and therefore we devoted time to reading from the New Testament. That evening, we spent time before supper meditating on texts from the Gospel, seeking to understand more deeply and spiritually what we read under the guidance of Father Apolinary.

The next day, on Friday, early in the morning, the group went on to continue the march, which is also part of the pilgrims' march: We walked from Majdal to Tabgha, about 7 kilometers. As we walked, we prayed the rosary, in honor of Mary, the mother of Jesus. In the evening, we continued with the rosary, each one adding personal prayer intentions, praying for salvation.

On Saturday, early in the morning, we finished the march, proceeding on the way to Capernaum, where we visited the monastery of the Franciscans. In the afternoon, when we returned to Tabgha, Father Apolinary celebrated mass for the families and for the young people from the youth group in the midst of the amazing landscape there. This was the end of the trip, with all the amazing panoramas we experienced, the fun of being on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, the pleasure of nature, the good atmosphere, and the spiritual ambiance thanks to the guidance of Father Apolinary.
