It is a tradition to celebrate Ge’ez and Jewish New Year at Kuchinate, the Center for Refugee African Women in Tel Aviv. For that occasion, typical and delicious food is prepared by Eritrean, Ethiopian and Sudanese women. And you cannot miss the coffee rite which symbolizes friendship, communion and sharing, and warm welcoming to anyone who pops in.

Among the guests, many representatives of the NGOs that deal with the refugees were present. The celebration was enriched by Israeli and African children who enjoyed the music and the joyful dances.

This year, the celebration of the co-founder of Kuchinate, Diddy Mymin-Kahn’s birthday coincided with the day.

We wish a Blessed New Year to all. May this year be a year of peace and integrity.
