Archbishop Pizzaballa appoints Father Rafic
On Saturday, September 2, 2017, while awaiting the approval of the Holy See, Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, has appointed Father Rafic Nahra to run the Saint James Vicariate for Hebrew Speaking Catholics in Israel.
In a brief message to the priests of the Vicariate, Archbishop Pizzaballa informed them that he has appointed Father Rafic Nahra, responsible for the Jerusalem kehilla, as responsible for the Vicariate until the Holy See sends approval for the nomination of the Vicar. The appointment conforms to the Statutes of the Saint James Vicariate. Father Rafic replaces Father David, who resigned on August 14.
We assure Father Rafic of our prayers and collaboration as he takes on this important task.
