Priests' meeting – March 25, 2011
The priests of the Saint James Vicariate for Hebrew speaking Catholics in Israel met today, the Feast of the Annunciation, Friday, March 25, 2011, at Latroun.
Present at the meeting were ten priests, including the priests responsible for the communities in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv - Jaffa, Haifa, Beer Sheva, Tiberius and both priests working with the Russian-speaking communities.
The meeting began with singing the Magnificat in honor of the Virgin Mary. This was followed by news from the different communities.
The main subjects of the meeting were:
- The budget of the Vicariate and fund raising efforts
- Planning the community day on Easter Sunday
- The weekend for young families
- Preparation for the World Youth Day in Madrid in 2011
- Religious education classes
- A report on the recent Assembly of Ordinaries of the Holy Land
The meeting ended with a short prayer.
