Father David ends his service as Vicar


On August 14, 2017, Father David Neuhaus sent a letter to the Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa in which he asked to be relieved of his charge as Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Hebrew speaking Catholics in Israel.

In the letter, Father David explained that after twelve years of responsibility in his position, three years serving under Father Pizzaballa, who was then Latin Patriarchal Vicar, and nine years as Patriarchal Vicar he is exhausted and asks the Apostolic Administrator to appoint a successor.

Until the appointment of his successor, Father David will continue to administer the affairs of the Hebrew speaking and migrant Catholics in Israel.
