In a ceremony to honor Father Gregor Pawlowski, long time priest of the Hebrew speaking kehillot in Israel and chaplain to the Poles living in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, the Archbishop of Lublin, H.E. Josef Zycinski, conferred on him the miter of a mitered prelate.

Father Gregor, a Jewish Catholic priest of Polish origin from the diocese of Lublin has been in Israel since 1970 and has consecrated his life to the service of both Polish and Hebrew speaking Catholics (as well as celebrating daily masses in French for the Sisters of Saint Joseph and the Christian School Brothers). This great honor, which allows Father Gregor to wear the miter during liturgy recognizes his life of great self sacrifice, a life which has also been a living witness to the reconciliation between Catholics and Jews. On January 17, as a new mitred prelate, Father Gregor will give a talk within the framework of the annual day for Jewish-Christian relations.

Mazal tov beloved Father Gregor! We are very proud of you and wish you many more years of good health and service in the vineyard of the Lord.
