Confirmation in the Jerusalem Filipino community

Father David Neuhaus, Latin Patriarchal Vicar, conferred the sacrament of confirmation during a joyful mass attended by the families and friends of those receiving confirmation. The twelve adolescents, all born in Israel, attend Jewish Israeli government schools but have been attending religion classes given by the Salesian seminarians, who study theology in the Ratisbonne monastery.

In his homily, Father David exhorted the twelve young people to live filled with the spirit, without fear and proudly follow Jesus, “the way, the truth and the life”. After the homily, he conferred the sacrament on each of the twelve, who were accompanied by their godparent.

At the end of the mass, the assembly gathered in the monastery courtyard for a sumptuous feast.
