“There is more joy in giving than in receiving,” says Saint Luke in Acts 20:35. On Tuesday, a group of about fifteen young people experienced this themselves, offering an afternoon of celebration and games to the children at Saint Rachel’s Center on the occasion of “Good Deeds’ Day”.

They arrived at our center very well organized and adorned our playground, setting up in each corner of the space different workshops with activities to propose to the children. There were activities that were creative and others that were games. The most popular were the workshops that allowed the children to plant flowers in vases and the large machine that churned out candy floss. There were others like a cooking corner that made chocolate balls, a make up corner that colored the faces of the children, basket ball and many other activities.

The most beautiful aspect of the activity was that the youth were able to involve other young people, younger than themselves who themselves receive help. This activity allowed those who receive help to give to those who are younger and perhaps even more in need. This method is a great help and teaches us something that we too can put into practice.
