For the first time we had our monthly youth meeting in Haifa. Generously hosted by Fr. Abdo, parish priest of the Arabic speaking Latin community in Haifa, in the Carmelite school, we were able to include our youth from the Haifa community in our monthly gathering. With four kids from Jerusalem, eight kids from Tel Aviv and three kids from Haifa we were a good number of people to enjoy a community weekend.

We met on Friday evening, jointly cooking a meal of chilli con carne that was followed by watching a movie - “Fantastic Beasts and where to find them”. We used the movie to discuss the topic of xenophobia and its manifestations; we discussed our experience with xenophobia and where we are trapped in prejudice and fear.

Following this important subject, we went to “ijump” to spend some fun time on huge trampolines, shaking off some of the difficulties in life. We closed the weekend with Fr. Roman celebrating mass for us and giving us the opportunity to entrust our burdens to the Lord.

We are looking forward to seeing each other again during the holiday camp at the beginning of April in Deir Rafat.
