Students in Beer Sheva

The students who study at the university are an integral part of the qehilla in Beer Sheva.

From the very beginning, the qehilla in Beer Sheva welcomed students and specialists who came from overseas for periods of study and research at Ben Gurion University. Students from the United States, Poland, Germany, Austria, Ukraine, Japan and many other places frequented the community and became a real part of it. Many of them were students of medicine but others specialized in chemistry, Jewish studies, and there was even a Nigerian specialist of mosquitoes.

These people contributed a great deal to community life and many have stayed in contact, sending news about marriages and births of children to the community accompanied by updated photos.

Recently, the community celebrated the graduation of Vina, an American student, who invited members of the Beer Sheva qehilla to her graduation ceremony when she received her diploma in international medicine. Vina was a member of the community for the duration of her six years of study and she shared with the community the joy of studying and volunteering in various parts of the world.
