Marriage preparation in the Indian community


Father Tojy, chaplain of the Indian Catholic community in the Holy Land, reports on a marriage preparation course that took place on September 16 and 17, 2016 in Jaffa.

The Indian Chaplaincy organized a two days marriage preparation seminar for the Konkani speaking faithful. It was conducted by Fr. Evan Gomes SVD from Divine Retreat Centre Mulki, Mangalore, India at Saint Peter's Church Hall, Jaffa on Friday and Saturday, September 16 and 17, 2016. There were 18 participants. The main topics dealt with in the seminar were marriage as a covenant, canon law and concepts of marriage like understanding the human mind (man and woman), challenges of family life, complementarity of man and woman, Natural Family Planning (NFP), family financial planning and wedding liturgy preparation.
