The Saint Rachel Center in Jerusalem is situated on the property of the Capuchin monks in Jerusalem, in the neighborhood of Talbieh. An abandoned building on the property was renovated and refurbished to serve as a day care center for twenty-five babies, as an after school center for children and as a weekend center for youth activities.

After three months of hard work on the site, some of those that work in the center together with the community that lives in the Vicariate and some members of the Jerusalem kehilla gathered in the Center for morning prayer. Integrated in the morning prayer was the blessing of the house and Father David, responsible for Hebrew speaking and migrant Catholics, sprinkled holy water in all the rooms. Immediately after that the babies started to arrive – veterans who were already last year in the Vicariate and new ones to replace those who went up to the municipal kindergartens.

May the Lord bless the work in the new center!
