On Friday morning, August 19, 2016, a full bus load of children, youth and counsellors made their way from south Tel Aviv to Herzlia to spend three fun hours in the swimming pool of Beit Protea. This institution was founded in 1992 to house elderly Israelis who are of southern African origin.

Lynn Lochoff and her husband Henry invited the kids from south Tel Aviv and organized a royal welcome. The indoor swimming pool became the scene of much laughter and fun. In addition, the children were invited to an ongoing reception which included snacks, drinks, ice cream and hotdogs.

Elderly residents came to express their joy at seeing the happy children in the pool. Many of the care givers in Beit Protea are Filipinos and some of the staff are Eritreans and they were especially delighted to see the children of their communities using the facilities.

We thank Lynn, Henry and all the residents of Beit Protea, who made this day a very special one during the summer camp this year!
