Summer camp continues in Jerusalem

Since mid-July about 65 children have been attending the summer camp for children held each day under the auspices of the Saint James Vicariate for Hebrew speaking Catholics in Israel.

The six-week long camp begins each morning at 9.00 and continues throughout the day until 18.00 five days a week, from Monday to Friday. The days are full of activities that include sport, art, games and prayer.

The team from the Vicariate running the camp includes Claudia, Sister Claudia and Daniel. They have been assisted by a wonderful group of volunteers that include at present Sister Sarah from Italy, three seminarians: Matthew and Wojtech from Poland and Ryan from England and two lay Italians, Daniele and Anna-Maria.

We are very grateful to the Finnish Evangelical Mission that allows us to use their beautiful premises two days a week and to the Salesians, who allow us to use their beautiful premises twice a week.

Back in the Vicariate, Guillaume, Amandine, Ainsley, Sister Erica and Fadia take care of the toddlers who are not old enough to participate in the children’s activities.

We are grateful to our benefactors for their support, especially Pontifical Mission and World Vision.
