This is the unrelenting joy of 1200 Syrian youth who are simultaneously meeting with young people in Krakow from July 29-30. The participants and presiding priests and bishops sent a special greeting to Pope Francis in Poland from more than 1,800 miles away, despite the intense conditions they face every day because of the war.

They are hosting WYD at the Saint Matilde Church of the Salesians during the weekend to celebrate the Eucharist, confessions and hear various catechesis on the dynamics of mercy. The Holy Door of the church was also opened especially for this event.

While they also are coinciding with the theme: "Blessed are the merciful, for they will have mercy,” they have an additional title: "Move the Heart.”
