Aseel, member of Desert Flower, writes to us from Cracow about what happened on the fourth day in the city.

We began our day at eight in the morning with breakfast and immediately after it Benny taught us a lesson on the subject of sin and confession. During this lesson we learnt a number of new things that some of us did not know, for example: what in fact is sin? What is the meaning of confession? Why is it important to confess? We went over the Ten Commandments and Benny explained each one also in the light of the teaching of Jesus and the New Testament.

After that, we went to the sanctuary of the Divine Mercy and there we saw the original renown picture of the merciful Jesus of Saint Faustina, a picture we had spoken about throughout the year in the monthly meetings of the youth group Desert Flower. Fathers Piotr and Apolinary sat in the confessionals for us. This very special hour we spent in the church where some of us had our first experience of confession.

Afterwards, we returned to the city of Cracow and spent the rest of the day visiting the Jewish quarter of Casimierz, the palace of the king and finally we also saw the statue of the dragon of the city, symbolizing Cracow, which spits fire every few minutes, about which there is a charming children’s tale.
