Sister Marie-Esther, a French Jew, who arrived in the Holy Land in the 1950s, took her vows as a Carmelite in the Carmel of Nazareth on March 25, 1960 (see photo). There she remained for her entire life, dedicated to prayer. She is remembered by many of the veterans of the kehillot. She was remembered at mass in the Jerusalem kehilla after her death in the words of one who knew her well: “a faithful Jew and a faithful nun”.

May her memory be a source of blessing!
