The feast of Mary in Rafat: We were there too

On Sunday, October 25, Father David, the Vicar, and a few of the faithful from the Hebrew speaking Catholic communities that he is responsible for, joined the throngs of Christians from all over the country who celebrated Mary's feast at Deir Rafat.

The Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Fouad Twal, celebrated the solemn mass and after that the participants in the prayer walked in the traditional procession around the church and the monastery with a statue of Mary, Queen of our country. The prayer in everyone's mouth was for peace in our land. The music and the songs of the band from the Latin Patriarchal Seminary of Beit Jala created the popular atmosphere. On this feast one can see that the Christian communities in the country are full of life and joy despite all the difficulties and pressures.
