Marie-Alphonsine Ghattas: Beatification on November 22

The Vatican announced that on the Feast of Christ the King, November 22, 2009, Marie-Alphonsine Ghattas, the foundress of the Sisters of the Rosary, will be officially recognized as "blessed".

For many years, the Sisters of the Rosary have been waiting for official recognition of their foundress. This recognition will be given to her in a ceremony that will take place in the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth. Recognizing her as "blessed" is one step before recognizing her as a "saint".
