Jerusalem kehilla ascends on the Feast of the Ascension

About eighteen members of the Jerusalem kehilla found themselves at six in the morning on the Mount of Olives, on the occasion of the Feast of the Ascension. We had the privilege of celebration mass in the round building that immortalizes the place from where, according to Christian tradition, Jesus ascended into heaven forty days after his resurrection from the dead. The round building is today a Muslim shrine however once a year the Christians can hold liturgy there. On this day, in order to facilitate the many groups that want to celebrate mass there, ythe Franciscans organize the schedule with great precision one mass following another. After the joyful mass, which was also attended by very sisters from different congregations who happened to be there, some of the kehilla members went to have breakfast together.

In our prayers on the Mount of Olives, we remembered in our modest intercessions, all those who had perished in the Shoah as this year the Feast of the Ascension and Shoah Memorial Day fall on the same day. May it be the will of God that we learn from the past and remember so that we can build a better future.
