It is a tradition that after the Easter family day that is celebrated on Easter Sunday, the children say farewell to their parents and join the Easter camp. This year however the family day was held on the 5th Sunday of Easter that corresponded to the second day of Passover. A record number participated in the camp: 17 adult counselors, 13 youth from the Desert Flower youth group and 60 children from the various kehillot.

The theme of the camp this year was Unity and the Holy Spirit, in preparation for Pentecost. Each day the children participated in a variety of activities: religion classes, art, games, sport, cooking and theatre. They participated in morning prayer and mass, had lots of fun times, a film each evening and also times for prayer and quiet. The religion classes focused on the presence of the Holy Spirit in the Church. In the art classes, they designed a t-shirt that proclaimed unity.

We are very grateful to the Sisters of Deir Rafat for their warm welcome and to Church in Need for helping to finance this important activity for Hebrew speaking Catholic children.
