Father Jamal and the seminarians were welcomed to the Pastoral Center by Father David Neuhaus, Latin Patriarchal Vicar responsible for the pastoral among migrants, Father Michael Grospe, director of the Center and the sisters who serve in the Center. After a short word of welcome and an explanation of the pastoral work with migrants in south Tel Aviv, Father David led the seminarians on a walking tour of the neighborhood during which they also visited the premises of the Center.

Father Jamal celebrated the 19.00 mass, the first of the eight Sunday masses celebrated at the Center. His homily focused on the task, duty and vocation of the shepherd who is in the likeness of the Good Shepherd, Jesus. At the end of the mass, Father David pointed out that these visitors were very special as they were descended from the first Christians and thanks to the lives and sacrifices of the Holy Land Christians the Gospel had spread to all lands.

After mass, the community at the Center invited the entire group to a delicious meal on the Center’s rooftop.
