New appointments in our communities

There have been some changes in the Hebrew speaking Catholic communities in Israel and we publish these changes here.

slavomirFather Slawomir Abramovski, responsible for the Russian speakers in the north of the country, was appointed parish priest in Eilat a few months ago. We wish him every success in his new job and we take our leave of him with warm words of thanks for all he did for our communities. Father Slawomir arrived in Israel in 2002 and worked hard to establish Russian speaking communities in Latroun, Haifa and Tiberius.

janFather Jan Hlavka, responsible for the Russian speakers in the south, has agreed to temporarily replace Father Slawomir, taking responsibility for the Russian speakers in the north. In order to do this job, he has to leave the Jaffa - Tel Aviv community where he has served as responsible for the Hebrew speaking community since 2006. We thank him for his devoted service and wish him every success in his new job.

roman

Father Roman Kaminski, who was ordained a priest on April 25, 2009, replaces Father David Neuhaus in Haifa. Father Roman served as deacon in Haifa for about sic months before his ordination o the priesthood and therefore he knows the community and they know him. Let us pray that God guides him in all his steps and strengthens him, in his first placement as priest.

david-neuhaus

Father David Neuhaus, Patriarchal Vicar for the Hebrew speaking communities, who has served for the past two years as responsible for the community in Haifa, will replace Father Jan in Jaffa. Father Gregor Pawlowski, who has been serving in Jaffa since 1971, will help him. Because of his job as Vicar, Father David will also celebrate Sunday mass once a month in Jerusalem, Haifa and Beer Sheba so that he can stay in contact with the communities and the members.

Let us pray for our communities - that they may thrive and live as witnesses to Christ's love.
