Despite the lack of public transportation because of the marathon in Jerusalem, nine members of the Jerusalem kehilla went this morning to the Little Sisters of Jesus in the Old City, to the Sixth Station of the Via Dolorosa, and we celebrated mass in preparation for Easter that is fast approaching. The Sixth Station is the place where, according to tradition, Saint Veronica wiped the blood and sweat from the face of Jesus, who was carrying the cross on the way to Golgotha, and the features of Jesus, full of suffering and compassion, were imprinted on her handkerchief. Two sisters from the community at the Sixth Station joined the mass and we prayed especially for the Little Brothers and Little Sisters of Jesus as this year is the hundredth anniversary of the death of Blessed Charles de Foucauld.
