On Monday, February 8, a mass was celebrated in the Beer Sheba kehilla for Eritrean and Sudanese asylum seekers. Thirty one men from the Holot Detention Facility arrived in the morning at the parish.

While praying the Rosary, there was an occasion for confessions. The Eucharist was celebrated by Father Medhin, the priest responsible for the Ge’ez rite Catholics in Israel. After the mass, talks and meetings took place in the parish hall.

One of the Eritrean women from the Beer Sheba community prepared special food, typical of her country. There was a famous injera bread and spicy meat with different toppings.

The date of the next meeting was established. We hope that with God's help this initiative will bring spiritual fruit for those detained in Holot.
