Benedict XVI is coming to promote peace

Pope Benedict XVI confirmed in the Angelus prayer on Sunday, March 8, 2009, that he will visit Jordan, Israel and the Palestinian Autonomy between May 8 to 15, 2009.

In his address to the faithful, the Pope said that the reason for his trip was "to ask the Lord, while visiting the places sanctified by his life on earth, for the precious gift of unity and peace for the Middle East and for all of humanity."
