Please reinstate the Feast of the Circumcision
On Sunday, January 17, 2016, while Pope Francis was greeting the Jews who had gathered outside the synagogue of Rome, a special request was made by an elderly Italian Jew.

The elderly man, Nereo Musante, greeting the Pope warmly, asks why the Holy Father does not reinstitute the Feast of the Circumcision of Jesus (which falls on January 1, eight days after Christmas). He adds that this would be warmly welcomed by the Jews, underlining that Jesus is indeed a Jew. Mr. Musante then pointed out: “You are a very nice person. We love you a lot”
