Don Domenico SDB is well known to many Israelis for his warm welcome to all visitors who come to the Salesian Church of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, in Beit Jamal. In Hebrew, he explains to all visitors the significance of the symbols that cover the Church's interior and encourages all to read the Bible and spread God's love to one and all. His radiant smile is as bright as ever...

Don Domenico, born in Italy, has been in the country since 1937. He studied theology while interned in the camp set up by the British for Italian nationals in Bethlehem during the Second World War. For many years he was responsible for the oldest meteorological station in Israel, the one established by the Salesians at Beit Jamal.

We wish Don Domenico many more years of good health and joy in the service of the Lord! Until 120...!
