Towards Roman's Ordination

On Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 15.30 in Saint Savior's Church in the Old City of Jerusalem (New Gate), Roman Kaminsky will be ordained a deacon. Roman invites all members of our communities and all friends and sends his best wishes for a blessed Christmas with a poem he wrote.

In the beginning was the word: I love you
Through him all things came to be,
nothing came to be except through him.
And God saw that everything was good,
but through sin death came into the world.

And God said: I love you
And then Abraham appeared in whom all nations receive blessing.
After him came Moses, who brought for humanity the tablets of the law.
Then God called the prophets.
And they announced the coming of Immanuel,
who will bring peace and salvation to the world.

And God said: I love you
And then, in Bethlehem, the least of the clans of Judah,
was born a child.
His mother wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in the manger.
And the wise men from the east and the shepherds did him homage.

And God said: I love you
And then we entered to the world, you and I,
and with us all our brothers and sisters.
And our happiness has been sealed with love
and our peace has been sealed with reconciliation.

This night, this silent and holy night,
all nations look back to these wonderful events.
And when we sit at the table
to celebrate this feast in joy and peace,
this one word accompanies us: I love you.
